With little training under my belt and Marton-Wanganui fast approaching it was time to get in some serious distance. What better way than walking a marathon? This was marathon #19, but is also likely to be my only marathon for the year.
The GPS indicated that the course was ~1.1km long, plus I took a wrong turn on the way back and added a further ~1.2km. It was just a small field, so even with the extra distance at the end I still comfortably held on to first place.

The GPS also said that I went through the marathon distance (42.2km) in 4h56, and I finished with 5:12:17 for 44.5km. The 42.2km time was about 7 minutes slower than my fastest, but given the state of my training I'm quite happy with both time and extended distance.
