Ran the Mt Joggers Half Marathon today. The objective for this event was to get Heather through to a new PB. Mission accomplished! Probably a good thing I wasn't racing: the joints on the top of my left foot are jammed up and sore - time for physio - and racing hard would almost surely have made it worse. The course is primarily road, starting by the surf club at the foot of Mount Maunganui and heading south along Marine Parade on the road for about 3.5km for an out-and-back, then another km or so of road and about 2 km on the unsealed track around the base of the Mount. The road is essentially all flat, but there are a number of short undulations on the track.
Almost perfect weather for the event - sunny, but the air temperature was cold when just standing around. Not too hot, not too cold, and great views when running around the Mount.
